Alun trained in Newcastle and started his career as an oral surgery resident, before working as an associate in a range of different practices. With this solid foundation, Alun went on to launch two practices in the space of just 15 months, a challenge in the toughest economic conditions. After years of hard work Alun finally sold his award-winning business in 2005.
Alun’s background and experience give him a strong understanding of what others go through to build a successful practice. He has seen many different approaches and learned his own lessons in the real world.
Alun now runs Dental Business Partners to offer specific and specialised support for dentists and their teams. He has served as a media representative for both the BDA and BDHF and is an authority consulted by the media and has featured on BBC2, Sky TV and various radio stations.
A CTI trained coach he is also the only Kolbe Certified Consultant working in dentistry & medicine outside the USA.
Raised in South Wales, Alun has family roots in West Cork where he spends as much time as work allows. In other spare moments he has run three London marathons and lists rugby, real ale and music as relaxation.

Jenny Pinder is in practice in the City of London at the BUPA Dental Centre; this centre is a large practice with general dentists and specialists.
Jenny has practiced Dentistry since 1971 and loves general dentistry. Her qualifications include a Fellowship in General Dental Practice, and she has been closely involved with the Faculty of General Dental Practice, including being Vice-Dean in 1996.
Jenny began to treat dental phobic patients early on in her career when she realised that she has a natural aptitude for helping people get over their fears. She gets a great deal of professional satisfaction from watching unhappy and anxious patients recover their confidence and self- esteem.
Jenny backed this up by getting a Psychology degree from Birkbeck College in 1986. This enabled her to teach new dental graduates and lecture widely.
Jenny’s family has been in dentistry for 100 years, including both parents and both grandfathers. This didn’t stop her from hating having her own teeth done, and she has to have pain free dentistry to be able to cope with it!!!
For the past few years Jenny has been treating more and more dental phobic patients. The condition is much more widespread than many people realise, and causes a lot of misery.
The treatment options she offers range from simple psychological techniques to a variety of safe methods of sedation. Dental Treatments have varied from just a simple cleaning after 30 years of phobia, to helping people through the loss of their teeth and having dentures.

Chris is a knowledgeable expert who offers practical business logic, relevant, effective, proven ideas and a serious depth of character.
Chris Barrow has been active as a consultant, trainer and coach to the UK dental profession for over 15 years; he combines long experience and deep expertise with the originality and independence needed to resolve the thorniest problems. Naturally direct, assertive and determined, he has the ability to reach conclusions quickly, as well as the sharp reflexes and lightness of touch to innovate, change tack and push boundaries.
Chris spent the first 17 years of his working life in the corporate sector and followed this with 23 years of self-employment. The different dynamics of both worlds have given him the valuable gift of knowing how to operate – and communicate – in both.
In 1987 Chris was active in the establishment of the Institute for Financial Planning, an organisation representing the first fee-based Financial Planners; Chris specialised in working with small businesses.
In 1993 Chris decided to transition from the world of fee-based financial planning to business coaching and became one of the first UK students at Coach University, from where he graduated as a certified coach.
Recognising the opportunity in the dental profession, 1997 saw the creation of The Dental Business School (DBS) and the development of a 12-month business coaching programme for dental practice owners and their teams, delivered to over 400 UK dental practices in the following 10 years.
In October 2008, became Director of Private Sector Development at Integrated Dental Holdings Ltd, the largest dental corporate in the UK and now acts as an occasional consultant to IDH as well as continuing his freelance consultancy work for corporates, PCT's and independent practices.
As a speaker he is dynamic, energetic and charismatic enough to captivate audiences of any size. His style is casual, open and authentic and – being naturally caring and funny – he's as easy to talk to as he is to listen to. Chris was one of the UK's first business coaches, which means few others can match his 15 years' experience.
Ask Chris what motivates him, and he'll say it's to help people succeed in their lives and businesses more quickly and easily than he did.
